SRC Spends a Night at The Joe

On Thursday, July 27, 2023 the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club met at the Joe Bruno Arena to watch the Tri-City ValleyCats take on the Joliet Slammers. Despite the threat of inclement weather the game went off on time and the club watched the ValleyCats defeat the Slammers by a score of 8-3. The club enjoyed a picnic dinner before the game featuring pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and hot dogs with a fireworks show after the game. A special thank you to Deb Rodriguez for planning the event for over two years(last year we were rained out). Pictures from the night can be seen below. Our Next Summer Casual Event scheduled for Thursday, August 3, 2023 when the Drumm’s will host the club for a picnic on their farm.

Another reminder, The Danes Rotaract will be hosting a Summer Social Event tonight Friday, July 28th at 5:30 at Wolff’s Biergarten located at 895 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207. All SRC members family and friends are invited to attend.

This Week’s Summer Casual Event, A Night with the ValleyCats

This week’s Summer Social Event hosted by Deb Rodriguez, features a picnic before the game and seats to watch the ValleyCats play this Thursday. The picnic pavilion opens at 5:30 and will feature a menu of BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork, Hot Dogs, Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Chips, and soda or water. The game starts shortly after the picnic at 6:30. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.

Looking ahead the next Summer Casual Event scheduled for August 3, 2023 hosted by the Drumm’s will be dinner on their farm. Please RSVP with Mary Drumm if you haven’t yet and are planning on attending so they can get an accurate count for food planning. Steaks by the Pool

Last night the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club held their 3rd Summer Casual event hosted by Jim Leyhane and Roberto Martinez. The evening featured a dinner of Filet Mignon, baked potato, cowboy beans, garlic bread, and several tasty appetizers brought by members and guests. It was a great night for fellowship between members, guests, family and friends.

Next week’s Summer Casual event is a night at the Valleycats ballgame hosted by Deb Rodriguez. The game starts at 6:30 with the Picnic Pavilion opening at 5:30. Tickets are required ahead of time.

Looking ahead at the Summer casual event schedule, A Night at the MacHayden theater, hosted by Peter and Debbie Brown is scheduled for August 17, 2023. If you are interested in attending this evening and you have not notified Peter and Debbie please do so ASAP, so they can arrange tickets and schedule a dinner reservation before the play.

A Night at S&S Brewery

On Friday, July 14, 2023 the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club met at S&S Brewery in Nassau for food, fun, fellowship and a few beers. The evening hosted by Phil Kellerman and Pat Bailey featured a food truck from Burger21, S&S’s own grille, and live music.

This week’s Summer Casual Event features steaks by the pool hosted by Jim and Roberto at Jim’s house in East Greenbush. The evening starts at 6:00pm but feel free to arrive at 5:30. The menu features fillet, baked potatoes, Cowboy beans, and garlic bread. Dessert will be Klondike bars. The cost is $20 per person or $25 per family with funds raised going towards our community efforts. Feel free to bring an appetizer. Looking forward to seeing everyone again this Thursday.

RSVP Needed for Next Week’s Summer Casual

As we prepare for this week’s Summer Casual Event at S&S Brewery this Friday at 6:00pm, RSVP’s are required for net week’s Summer Casual Event at Jim Leyhane’s. If you have not notified Jim or Roberto that you plan to attend, please do so before Friday at noon so that they may have an accurate count for the butcher. The menu for the evening includes fillet mignon, baked potatoes, cowboy beans, and garlic bread. Dessert will be Klondike bars. The cost of the event is $20 per person or $25 for a family, donations will be accepted. Funds raised will support community efforts.

This Week’s Summer Casual Event, Friday July 14, 2023, a Return to S&S Brewery

Join us for a fun evening this Friday, July 14th at 6 pm for friendship, craft beers, food and music at S and S Farm Brewery at 174 Middle Road in Nassau.  Music scheduled for the night is Gone Grey and food trucks will be there representing Burger 21 and S&S Hayfield Grill. Our First Summer Casual Event in the Books, and a Presidential Changeover

On Thursday July 6, 2023 we celebrated our first summer casual event hosted by the Browns. In addition to the night serving as a kickoff to our summer casual event season, it featured a Presidential Changeover as Peter Brown takes over the reigns from Kevin Leyhane and is now serving as the President of the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club. In addition to fine food, family, friends and fellowship there was also a tour of the Browns’ spectacular gardens.

Our next summer casual event is scheduled for next Friday, July 14th 2023, at 6:00pm located at S&S Brewery in Nassau. Please note that this event is on a Friday due to Brewery being closed on Thursday.
