Cardiac problems know no national boundaries, so when children anywhere are diagnosed with life-threatening conditions and cannot obtain proper care in their home countries, the Gift of Life (GOL) organization crosses international borders, and sometimes political lines, to bring such children to the U.S. for lifesaving, life changing surgery.

In addition, GOL funds medical missions to provide care in underdeveloped and under-served regions as well as training medical personnel how to cope with the conditions on their own.

The Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club has been a staunch supporter of GOL for many years, with participation on the Board of Directors, hands-on projects, and very generous financial donations.
