‘Spamalot’ outing was an evening of laughs and groans

Screen Shot 2017-07-19 at 2.17.13 PMAnyone in need of a few — well, OK, a LOT — of laughs would be well advised to attend a performance of the rollicking musical comedy “Monty Python’s Spamalot” at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Columbia County. That was the latest event on SRC’s “Summer Casual Schedule.”

After most of the contingent met for dinner, they caught up with a few others on Thursday night for hours of original music; high-brow — and some very-low-brow — comedy; clever speeches and horrid puns, and excellent singing and dancing by a spirited cast.

NOTE: Our final “Summer Casual” event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, August 24, when Ray Hannan will host us at Eastwyck Village. Please email him at ray110b@yahoo.com no later than Tuesday (August 22) to let him know whether or not you plan to attend, and whether you’ll be bringing guests. After that event, we’re off until we resume weekly dinner meeting at Quigley’s on Thursday, September 7.

Meanwhile, here are a few scenes from Thursday evening:
