From President Philip Kellerman:

On Thursday July 11, Jim Lehayne, Roberto Martinez, and I traveled to the Columbia County Fairgrounds in Chatham to scope out the site of the proposed “Rotary 5K/10K Runs and Festival of Good” for October 10, 2020.

While the proposed fundraising runs and other family activities are over a year off, there is a considerable amount of work to do to prepare, and Jim and Roberto have already spent a considerable amount of time in discussion and planning. Thank you to them.

After viewing the fairgrounds and our lengthy discussion, I am comfortable that we can pull this off. However, we will need everyone to play a role, and if it succeeds the event can generate money for our chosen charities.

At our first official dinner meeting of the 2019-20 Rotary Year — 6:15 p.m. Thursday, September 12 —  we will have an update from the planning committee so we all have the opportunity to ask questions and give comments.
