The Schenectady Rotary Club is putting the finishing touches on its upcoming “Karaoke & Talent Competition,” but it still is looking for additional talent as well as audience members.
The event, a “funraiser” offering entertainment, competition, cash prizes, and a lot of socializing among Rotarians and their guests, will be held from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Schenectady Armory Center, 125 Washington Avenue, Schenectady. Tickets are available now online.
Consider this your chance to redeem yourself from that awkward talent show skit you did at summer camp and never lived down, or that “performance” in Vegas you never talk about. The cash bar will help make the performances seem better, or provide the liquid courage leading up to your act.
Now is your chance to showcase your wildest talents that you can complete in a 3-4 minute performance. Or, if you have a friend who would be great at this, let them know this is their time to shine. Duets and group acts are encouraged.
Don’t know the kind of talent you should bring? Consider the following options:
• Comedy
• Stupid human tricks
• Celebrity impressions
• Dancing
• Juggling
• Instrumental music
• Singing
• Magic
• Sketch comedy
… and, of course, plenty of karaoke!
